Vintage Romance

June 12, 2018

One of our favorite things is collaborating with great wedding vendors and we recently got the chance to do just that. We contributed a blog post to Basic Invite: a premier online creator of custom invitations and paper goods. This blog featured a little bit about what we do and some gorgeous photos from our shoot with Camryn Wild Photography:

Remember playing dress-up as a kid? You could put on an outfit and suddenly be transported - become someone else in a different time and place. There is something so freeing about being able to become whatever you want. That freedom is what I want every bride to feel when she comes into our boutique. What would she wear to be the best version of herself on one of the most important days of her life?

It’s a big question and an emotional one. It requires intuition and the loving input of family and friends, but when you see a bride step out in ‘the one’ the connection is undeniable.

That connection happens between the bride, her guests, and the gown. The stars aline and it feels right. Some giggle, others cry, some stare in stunned silence. Every woman is different but when it happens, you know.

Lots of brides feel pressured to have a certain reaction. We’ve all seen Say Yes to the Dress. We feel like we know what ‘should’ happen when you try on wedding gowns. But bridal experiences are as unique as the bride; there is no set of rules that dictate how people express themselves.

The key is that they do express themselves in some way. If the dress does not express you, it’s not the one. Your bridal gown is one of the most self-expressive garments you will ever wear and it’s why the bridal experience is so important. You get to play dress-up again, but this time, instead of pretending to be someone else, you are dressing up like yourself - wearing what you would want to wear when you marry the one you love.

Helping a bride, surrounded with love and support from her friends and family, celebrate this most important of days - it’s why I do what I do with all my heart and why I’m such an advocate of the bridal boutique experience.

Every bride deserves personalized attention from a consultant who understands the process, who knows her boutique’s dresses and wants the bride to have the best experience possible. The boutique itself must be warm and welcoming - a safe space for the bride to figure out who she is and who she wants to be on her wedding day. That’s what we do at Bella Rose and what we will continue to do for years to come.
